Smack in the middle of Kansas City, the patron city of BBQ, lies a humble specialty foods company called Original Juan. In the pursuit of purveying perfectly peppy products, we make hundreds of different gourmet goodies, from habanero hot sauces to hazelnut cheesecake. Pain is Good is a member of this big, happy family.

A few years back, the salsa sages at Original Juan were visited by three mysterious strangers — Buckwheat, Bubba, and Mo. The boys, called the Sultans of Sizzle, had an idea for a new line of spicy fare that was not too hot, not too wimpy, but just right. In essence, they wanted to create flavorful foods that caused a "good pain" — a sensual nirvana that perfectly balanced intricate flavors with fiery euphoria.

Well, needless to say, we hired the three wacky dudes on the spot. After many months toiling in the fiery belly of our test kitchens, the Sultans emerged with three new flavor potions: Batch #114, Batch #218, and Batch #37. Each batch has spawned a number of sizzling goodies, from salsas and dips to snacks and drink mixes.

The Sultans of Sizzle recently hooked up with three new hotties known as the Divas of spice — GeeGee, Blondi, and Juanita. These sassy ladies are the proud creators of Batch #112, Batch #164, and Batch #66. Together, this blazing bunch travels the globe in search of newer, better good pain.
